A great way to attain your degree.
The Georgetown Excellence in Nursing Science and Practice Scholarship was established in partnership with Georgetown University to provide significant financial assistance for our RNs who are looking to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and/or a graduate degree from the Georgetown University School of Nursing & Health Studies.
The scholarship is open to full-time (36+ hours per week), hospital-based Georgetown nurses who are admitted to Georgetown University School of Nursing & Health Studies and who demonstrate academic and professional excellence. Those with greater than 2 years nursing experience qualify for this scholarship 6 months from their date of hire. New Grads may apply 2 years after their date of hire with the approval of their Clinical Manager.
We’ll pay up to 100% of your tuition.
The scholarship program for full time, 36-hour or more, hospital-based, bedside nurses provides tuition for part-time studies (to a maximum of 8 credits per semester) paid as follows:
- 40% grant per credit from Georgetown University Hospital
- 40% grant per credit from the School of Nursing & Health Studies
- 20% per credit paid by the student
Scholarship students will be expected to work with SNHS faculty and GUH leadership to develop projects that improve patient outcomes in the acute care setting at Georgetown University Hospital. Students remaining in good academic standing and demonstrating satisfactory clinical performance evaluations will be eligible to receive the scholarship through completion of the degree program. This will be reviewed each semester.
To receive the 100% reimbursement, students will have the chance to commit to two additional years of full-time service to Georgetown University Hospital after completing their degree program. At the end of that time period, Georgetown University Hospital will reimburse the student’s initial 20% contribution (less taxes paid) upon presentation of payment receipts to the GUH Nurse Recruitment & Retention Team. The GUH Benefits Office will be issuing this reimbursement to the student.
Choose from a variety of degrees.
The scholarship may be used for part-time studies towards the:
- RN - BSN/MS program
- MS in Nursing (Acute and Critical Care Nurse Specialist, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwifery/Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Education)
- MS in Health Systems Administration
The scholarship may not be used toward the Nurse Anesthesia program, as it is a full-time degree program only. Some additional guidelines also apply.
